Ellen Hunt, MA, was a British civil servant who was implicated in first contact negotiations with a group of extraterrestrial beings known only as the 456.

After graduating from Girton College, Cambridge in 1958 with the highest first in her year in Classics, Hunt joined the Civil Service as a secretary. She left government in 1965 to marry a Foreign Office official. Having received postings to Australia and Hong Kong, she returned to Sevenoaks in 1973. In September 2009, Home Office Permanent Secretary John Frobisher issued orders to kill Hunt, Michael Sanders, Andrew Staines and Jack Harkness to cover up the British government's prior involvement with the 456.
